Putting it All Together

“The [high performing schools] practices are interdependent and should not be viewed in isolation.”
National Center for Education Achievement-
Authors of the High Performing Schools Model
The district leadership team is already working on plans for making our schools even better for the 2010-2011 school year. As we work towards enhancing what we do, it is important that everyone understands how our instructional practices and initiatives fit into one cohesive whole. Many high performing districts develop individual building action or improvement plans. High performing school districts typically yield high student achievement for all groups of students.
The district leadership team has developed a format for building action plans to be implemented next year. The idea is not to add more things for principals and staff to do. Simply put, building action planning will help guide discussions and actions (many of which are already taking place). The staff will be involved in such planning and periodic reviews. The school district cabinet members will also be completing a district-wide action plan which will support building plans.

PSERS Pension Forum
The District’s Parent/Community/Intergovernmental Relations Committee hosted a PSERS Pension Forum on Wednesday, May 19 at 7PM in the Junior High West Auditorium. The purpose of the forum was to provide the taxpayers of our District the opportunity to ask questions of State Representatives Kessler and Quigley and learn about the anticipated tax increases stemming from State mandates for PSERS (Public School Employees’ Retirement System). Below are links to the presentations that were shown during the Forum.
